Product development and release ownership outside employment and client work.

BarKeepCreator & maintainer · Personal open-source projectA native Swift macOS menu bar companion for Busy Bar, with USB and Wi-Fi control.

I built BarKeep to bring Busy Bar controls into the macOS menu bar: scrolling messages, a live display preview, timers, and automatic busy status during calls. The native Swift app uses SwiftUI and AppKit, with a CLI, an MCP server, and optional Claude Code hooks for developer workflows.

Connection settings support both USB and Wi-Fi. In v1.0.15, I consolidated the connection selector in Settings and made Wi-Fi setup appear only when needed. Saved Wi-Fi settings survive switching back to USB, so changing connections does not mean starting over.

I maintain the MIT-licensed source, Developer ID-signed and Apple-notarized releases, and a Homebrew cask for installation and updates. The app targets macOS 14 and later.

BarKeep was built with substantial assistance from ChatGPT/Codex and Claude. I review, test, sign, and take responsibility for official releases.
